Make this sentece simple, please!

Not only does the moon's gravitational pull play a role in tidal formation but also physical phenomena such as hurricans and typhoons do too.

Can you please re-write the sentece in simple form?

Thanks! [F]

It seems pretty simple to me, Bb. It does not contain any idioms except 'play a role' (= participate in, contribute to). Which words do you not understand?

I don't understand it grammatically. Just in the way they used. Why "does" used? Can we omit them? Can you explain the structure of the sentece, please.

Well, part of the problem is that it is written rather casualy, and the structure is not really very good. It should read something like this (Not only A but also B):

Not only does the moon's gravitational pull play a role in tidal formation but it also does so in physic
