Make the most?

I see it in a dialog in a movie. Would you please tell me what does it mean?

"Make the most of this day, it'll be your last."

"make the most of something" is an idiom. It means "that you use something to get the best possible results". In your example, the speaker is being ironic because it's virtually impossible to make the most of this day" knowing that you're going to die today (or tomorrow at the latest).
