Make the dust fly vs. make the fur fly

Hi

I checked the meanings of both these idioms: make the dust fly and make the fur fly. Am I correct to understand they mean the same?

She made the fur/dust fly when she saw me with her friend.

Thanks,

Tom

I have not heard "make the fur fly" in a long time. The other idiom, "make the dust fly" must be British English. I've never heard it except in the context of vigorous house cleaning.
