Make sure

1. I will make sure that you don't get hurt.
2. I will see to it that you don't get hurt.
Why do we use present tense in the above constructions ?
Why can't we write them as :
I will make sure that you will not get hurt.
I will see to it that you will not get hurt.

In a sentence having 2 verbs that are dependent/connected, that is, when one verb cannot exist without the other, you normally put only the first verb in the future tense. I will make sure that you don't get hurt. (make sure (you) don't get hurt; the verbs depend on each other) Compare that with the following sentence I'll go to Washington where I'll see the President.
