Make something into film?

Hi All,

I'm trying to find which English expressions say that you make something, like a novel, for instance, into a film.

-Is "make it into film" correct?

-And what other phrases could one choose from? (I've found "adapt to film", "adapt to the screen", are these okay? And/or you might have a better one : ) )

-And how about, "realize as a film"?

Thank you very much!
