How do you use "as far as" to make sentence?

Like this, as far as I know. (Although I would tend to use " so far as", rather than " as far as" in this case, but they mean the same thing). Another example: "The vehicle has only got as far as Jupiter".

Another example: "The vehicle has only got as far as Jupiter". (You can't use "so" in this case though).
