I'm not surprised you don't understand. It's poor English, and it isn't a complete sentence. My guess: I hope that never again will a single story be told as if it's the only one [that is true}.

It means the story has many perspectives that cannot be understood by just a single viewpoint.

Stories always have different points of view, for example the history of the Cold War, the victims would have a different side of the story opposed to the perpretrators.
