Hello,
Does "They told me he was really drunk last night and I hope he's made it home in one piece" sound odd to you?

Thank you.

Gene93 Does "They told me he was really drunk last night and I hope he's made it home in one piece" sound odd to you? No. A touch more expected perhaps would be 'so' instead of 'and' and 'he' instead of 'he's', that is all.

I am not the author and I'd like to ask you two questions, Mr. Micawber. Is it actually incorrect to use "and"? Can't we use "Present Perfect" is the speaker wants to emphasize the result? His friend might have got home at 1/2/3/4/etc AM and not literally "last night".
