Make home in

Is this natural? Does it mean she is from Olympia?
Michele makes her home in Olympia

Thanks

It sounds to me as if she has moved to Olympia and is settling there, or making a new home there. It doesn't mean that she originally came from Olympia.

Hmm, in this case it does look as if it simply means that she lives in Olympia. It's not an expression that I would use in that sense. To me, the word "make" suggests the process of setting up or creating a home, not merely living in one.

It's possible that the expression is better known in the US (I am from the UK). Perhaps an American member could comment.

Your way, would it be better to say or more natural to say 'made a home for herself in London'? Is that natural?

Thanks

It is natural but again it means that she created a home. It does not simply mean she lived there.

The second one seems more explicit.
