Make demands

Hi,
What does the following title mean? Would anyone please clarify it?

"Don't Make Demands on Us"

This is the title of one of the Time magazine's interview's with the president of Uzbekistan about political issues.

Thank you in advance,

Iman

Don't demand that we do something (difficult); don't ask us for (difficult) things.
