make a steal...

Hello folks. Could anyone please tell me if I can rephrase "steal a base" to "make a steal?" I've heard the latter phrase a lot of times, but I'm not sure if it refers to stealing a base in a game of baseball. Thanks a lot in advance.

I listen relatively frequently to baseball broadcasts, but I don't think that I have heard them say 'make a steal' .

I think you will get better advice if you provide some context.
