Major saxon genetive question!

Just when I thought that I know a Iot about the EngIish Ianguage, I was struck with this:

"Her brother's name is John." Iooks very easy and abvious but how to write the same sentence changing the personaI pronoun "her" for a name?

to the best of my knowIedge it shouId be Iike then:

"Sue's brother name is John."

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Thank you.

Sue's brother's name... that doesn't sound good to me :/ Are you sure?

Yes, Nugso is absolutely right. Even "Sue's brother's dog's name is Fido" is a perfectly natural utterance.

Ok I take your word for it. But it's strange that you say "her brother's name is John" and when you change the personaI pronoun for a name, it gets an 's ending. I have to memorise that. Thanks

The possessive adjectives have their own distinct forms:

John's hat
Mr Smith's hat
the cat's hat
her hat
his hat
its hat
their hat
our hat
my hat
your hat
