Mainly the use of abbreviation "etc." in question

Hi. Do you think the use of the abbreviation "etc." is incorrect? Would you reword the questions?

1. What music genre do you think the music (song?) you just listened to fit into, pop, rock, waltz, etc.?

2. What kind of music do you think the music (song?) is, pop, rock, country music, etc.?

Also, do you think this use of the phrase "for example" is correct? If the question is correctly written, do you think it is necessary to put a comma after the word "example" to be correct?

3. What kind of personalities are you fond of personally, for example politicians, musicians, entertainers?

The structure of all 3 sentences is confusing, and I suggest that you recast them as two sentences each: 1. What genre do you think the song you just heard fits into? Is it pop, rock, ('waltz' is not a genre) , or?
