Main clauses

Is it grammatically correct to say 'She thought that I lied to her was offending.' ?

I assume that 'that I lied to her' is the subject of the second clause. Isn't the second clause a main clause and if so doesn't it require a conjunction (since the first clause 'She thought' is also a main clause).

Thanks in advance.

Note that "she thought" is not a main clause, but just part of one. And that clauses are always subordinate, never main.
