Main and Auxiliary Verbs

Hi,

Just having a big problem with Main and Auxiliary Verbs, can anyone explain them, and help me try and do these


3. He does his homework every night.

4. Does he work hard at school?

5. I don't like ice cream.

6. They have finished their assignment.

7. She has long, black hair.

8. Do you like opera?

9. It is a lovely day.

10. I have been learning Italian.

I have to say whether the BE, HAVE or DO are main or auxiliary in the following examples:

3. He does his homework every night.

4. Does he work hard at school?

5. I don't like ice cream.

hi i'm so confused about main and auxillary verbs i wondered if you could explain the difference for me. as looking at the sentences above I don't no where to start in telling the difference. Its really stressing me out as I love the course I just stuggle with this part. Evertime I see a question relating to this I just blank out. Please help

What sort of course are you doing?

Are you familiar with the names of vebs tenses? (simple present, present continuous, present perfect, simple past, etc.)
