Maiden name, Marriage Ms. and Mrs. ?

If Miss Jones marries Mr. Smith, but does not change her name, what is she called? She is not Mrs. Smith, right? She is not Mrs. Jones either (that is her mother), right? Is she now Ms. Jones?

Thank you. I am American so we use the "." in Ms. Jones. The other resources I have consulted concur. When the discussion arises I want to make sure I have the proper information. This should not be a matter of preference, is this not a matter of grammatic rule?
