Magyar Cooking in English Usage

I commend this site to you as a superb example of how the English language can rise to poetic levels in describing food. No menu in French could ever extol gustatory delights with such aplomb or finesse. Great stuff!
If you look under "Poultry" for example you will find a dish The forester wife's spit which is then further described as "Turning the treasure of my garden into spit as the breast of poultry cucumber and mushroom"
A little further down we see Charm of Sir Vincent which is annotated as "Sauté he leg of goose formerly silenced with red cabbage, as is meet"
Do I hear echoes of Chaucerian music here? Leavened even with some baudy references...
