magnificent structures/buildings

Even more amazing is that such an ancient society would have had the technical ability to design these magnificent structures (pyramids), which include many inner rooms and tunnels, and that they would have been able to organize so many workers to complete such a task.

HI,
Is "structures" in the above equivalent to buildings? Thanks.
