Hello,

1. Something is made of something.
2. Something is made from something.

I want to know when to use "made from" and when to use "made of".

Please help me with a few examples.

Thanks.

We use the expression be made from when we can no longer identiy the material that was used just by looking at the object. g. Almost all paper is made from wood pulp.

Hi!

If something keeps its form, we use 'made of''
But if the form is changed during the process of making, then we use 'made from'.

"The shirt is made of cotton."
"The house is made of bricks."
"The keyboard is made of plastic."

"Paper is made from trees."
"Wine is made from grapes."
"This cake is made from all natural ingredients."

When I see this question, I find that I am able to answer it.
However, I don't know whether it's right or wrong to do so.
Because my grammar is poor too.
Could anybody give me some suggestions on it?
Because I don't know whether I should do the same thing when the same thing happens.

Many thanks in advance.
