Made friend/friends

He made friend with Randy.

He made friends with Randy.

He made friends with a lot of people.

Which one is wrong?

Context: He becomes Randy's friend.

Dear Michael Only the first one is wrong. The phrase is "to make friends with" and friends is always in the plural here Maybe that's because there have to be at least two friends to make friends - but anyway that is how the phrase goes.. Dave

Maybe that's because there have to be at least two friends to make friends - but anyway that is how the phrase goes..
