Macbeth

Hello!

I recently joined EnglishForward.com and I'm not quite sure if this is the correct place to ask my question.

In British Lit class, I recently read Macbeth. Can anyone please tell me why the witches' prophesy claimed that Banquo's heir would sit on the throne? I know that Macbeth had no children, but Malcolm, the son of King Duncan, ended up ruling, not Fleance, the son of Banquo. Can anyone clear up my confusion?

I think it's not the right forum, Erin. Maybe you should try at the writing forum. I guess you need someone who has already read Macbeth, and that's not easy.
