I know I'm writing a formal essay (for example A.P. style essays) but I was wondering if I'm "allowed" to use puns to make the essay more interesting. It's probably a good idea to set the reader up and knock em over laughing but I wasn't sure how an A.P. reader would react to a clever joke that fit the subject. []
