Lowly TV talent

I was reading this article (http://connecttheworld.blogs.cnn.com/2014/02/17/working-the-red-carpet-at-the-baftas/?hpt=hp_tvbx) at CNN's website and I didn't understand what does ‘‘lowly TV talent’’ mean : ‘‘(...) as lowly TV talent my job on the night sounds pretty basic (...)’’. What's a lowly TV talent? I looked up on the dictionary and I found out that lowly means humble...what about talent? I just can't figure out.Maybe talent is another word for reporter?
‘‘As a humble TV reporter...’’
