1. My doorway is not very tall, so I have to lower my head everytime I enter into home/house. Otherwise, I will hit the the top of the door frame. [please suggest me more appropriate words for "lower my head"]

I would not say it that way. You duck to avoid something, or to hide.

Actually I cannot simply pick it up by bending down, I may need to first bend down and then duck my head because otherwise I will be struck by cot.
