The story was about Molly Clarkson and her family. Unfortunately, her husband died last winter before her 50th birthday celebration. She had two daughters and a son; the girls’ name were Jackie and Diane and the son was Roger. She also had a brother named Albert. Molly lived with Jackie in a big, old house with a beautiful garden in the country . To celebrate her 50th birthday, she invitied Jackie, Diane, Roger and Albert to come and have a dinner. The party atmosphere wasn’t very good because all of the people just talked about the money, they were angry with Molly and didn’t have even a good wish for her. After the dinner, Molly went back to her room to sleep and the others drank coffee in the kitchen; subsequently, two more people came, Peter Hobbs – a neighbor and Tom Briggs – he used to be a gardener for Clarkson family. Early next morning, Diane and Roger found their mother dead in her bed, one hand under her head. Then, Roger called Dr. Pratt – the family doctor to come. After checking Molly’s state, the doctor believed that Mrs Clarkson was killed and suggested that Roger call the police. Soon, lots of police came and there are two detectives : one is Detective Inspector Walse and the other is Sergeant Foster. The detectives talked to Dr. Pratt in the kitchen meanwhile some police came upstairs to Molly’s room. After that, the Inspector required a room for questioning everybody and they started with uncle Albert. Then Jackie, Roger and Diane came into the room one after another. Next, two detectives went to see Peter and Tom and ask some similar questions; when they reached Tom’s house, Mr. Walse found such an important clue that could solve the case. Finally, he was pretty sure about who put sleeping tablets in Molly’s hot milk and killed her. He convened Peter, Tom and all of the Clarkson’s family and asked some last questions then he pointed out who was the killer.
