"love of" vs. "love for"

0Is there a difference in meaning between "love of" and "love for". i.e. "our love for children" or "our love of children"? which one is right or do they mean the same thing? many thanks in advance! 0-

I know this was posted a long time ago, it was the same question I was looking for a answer to.
I wrote my dear lady a note with the words, " with my love of and for you" and was never sure
if I was being redundant.
Some answers I read do help, my thought was the term "of" means a less romantic way. The
word "for" is on a deeper level. Am I wrong with my thinking?
