love in progressive tense

Hello,
I would like to ask if which way is correct to say 1.I have been loving her since the first time we met or 2.I have loved her since the first time we met.Also,I want to know why the correct one is more acceptable?

I agree that 'I have been loving her ...' doesn't work, but the progressive form of 'love' is possible where we are stressing limited duration:
