Lousy?

Is it okay to use the word lousy in an informal way to describe a comment or a remark?
As in; she made a lousy comment/remark.
(if she said something that was is bad taste or a bit stupid)

Very informal spoken or written expression, like in conversing with a friend.
I'm just trying to understand if it is correct if used in such a way. It has a rather wide range of meanings as I understand.

I suggest reserving its use to non-humans. It's really lousy weather today. I did a lousy job on my test this morning. He gave me a lousy response to my legitimate question.
