Lounge classic

Hi

The oryginal lyric of this song was much more emotional. I am not sure the best version ended up on the album. The same could be said of "If You Wear That Velvet Dress". It wanted to be a lounge classic. It ended up in an airport lounge as background noise.

I read what lounge music is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lounge_music

Does it mean that this song was released in a lounge music version, I read here that it was http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/If_You_Wear_That_Velvet_Dress

But I don't get the part "ended up in an airport lounge as background noise"? Does it mean they play this song in airport lounges????

I see. So, by saying that the song ended up in an airport lounge he didn't literally mean that the song is played in airport lounges, but that it's just unnoticed, people, fans don't like it etc.

So, if I tried to paraphrase that sentence: It wanted to be a lounge classic. It ended up in an airport lounge as background noise, it would be OK to say that:

The song “If You Wear That Velvet Dress” was supposed to be a lounge classic (but in fact it was released in a lounge music version, but maybe it’s not “classic”?), however now they only play it in airpor
