Loud

'Suddenly he shouted.' Can I write this sentence keeping the meaning same : 'Suddenly he got loud.'

'Thank you. That would not be very idiomatic, to the point where native speakers would not know exactly what you meant. Why do you want to change a perfectly good sentence?

Actually I found the sentence-'Rahim was talking in a low voice but suddenly he got loud'- in my son's text book. However I'm not sure whether the sentence is grammatically correct.
