Loss of signifiance due to the passage of time

Hello,

I'm looking for a word that would envelope the following sentence with its meaning:-

It is something that was once quite useful but has since lost its meaning, functionality and usefulness due to the passage of time and the evolution of its surroundings.

I'd be glad if someone suggested the most appropriate word.

Regards.

Hi,

In addition to what Alpheccastar said I can provide you with the following ones:

degenerate,decay,debase,degrade,etc.

But remember that they'renot all exactly the same but near to each other.

Hope it helps
