Loss-making business

Hi

I think I have asked this question before but can't find it. Could you please tell me how the red phrase sounds to your native ears?

  1. They are still running that loss-making business.
  2. It was a loss-making factory they had been operating for over a decade.

I am sure that loss-making exists and is very common in Indian English, especially business English. Can I request your take please?

Thanks,

Tom

Mr. Tom Can I request your take please? Even though I've seen it in a thesaurus, loss-making is completely unfamiliar to me.
