Losing her/Lost her, makes my day really hard.

Dear all,which sentence is right?

I lost her a few days ago. And someone is asking about my feeling towards this.

Then I reply:

Losing her, makes my day really hard.

Lost her, makes my day really hard.

Should be the first one right? Because Gerund to start the sentence, right?

Million Thanks.
