Press Release: Lose Your Accent in 28 Days
New Accent Reduction Book and CD-ROM Set Is First to Help Workforce Foreign Nationals Achieve Accurate English Pronunciation in Just One Month
Tuesday August 24, 8:03 am ET
ANN ARBOR, Mich., Aug. 24 /PRNewswire/ Judy Ravin, Director of English Communications Services, LLC, an accent reduction firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, has produced a new system to help foreign nationals lose their accents. "Lose Your Accent in 28 Days" combines a CD-ROM with an audio CD and a book to help professionals lose their accents in just one month.
The system is being published by Language Success Press and will be available online at http://www.loseaccent.com .
Ravin's system provides hundreds of video clips on CD-ROM with close-ups of Ravin herself making the sounds.
"Our clients achieve proficiency when they're able to see the correct placement of their mouth, lips, and teeth when forming English sounds, words and phrases," Ravin said. "Providing foreign nationals with the needed visual reinforcement of a CD-ROM is a much more efficient method of learning than simply using the typical audio cassette. It's a more accurate and accessible approach."
The accompanying book includes explanations and 80 techniques for effective communication.
Ravin's firm provides English improvement and accent reduction training for General Motors, DaimlerChrysler, Pfizer, Hyundai, and others.
Over the past five years, she's diagnosed the words and expressions business people struggle with most and she's included them among the
956 examples in "Lose Your Accent in 28 Days." A glossary of idiomswith definitions is included.
Ravin's system works for people of all language backgrounds.

The suggested retail price for the new set is $49.95.

Tennessee accents should be encouraged. It's those ugly New Yawk and Joisey accents that need muffled.

Why would children's American accent go away if they were living in America?

Are they not allowed to watch TV or associate with Yanks?

You can lose your accent with respect to a specific reference pronunciation. People working for CNN and the BBC do it all the time.
