Lose value/prestige

Can you say:

1 Some jobs such as charpenter, joiner, mechanic, plumber, any blue collar job has lost its value/prestige over the decades. No one wants to do them.

Would you say "lose value/prestiage" or some other phrase?

  • Thanks 'carpenter' I think I would say have lost their appeal They certainly haven't lost their 'value', and I'm not sure about the 'prestige'.
