Lose value diminish in value

Are these both natural?

Is it correct to say”lose value” “gain value”?

Because of the new model, the old model is going to lose value. It’s going to take a big hit. You should have sold it before the new model came out.

This object will only lose value/diminish in value. It won’t ever gain (in) value.

Thanks
