Lord of the Flies alternate ending.
I have an idea for an alternate ending to Lord of the Flies.
The day after Piggy's death and Ralph is chased all over the island, he evades all the other savages with ease.
The other boys run way to the other end of the island, so it would be some time before they found him.
Samneric quickly betray Jack's group and rejoin Ralph.
The three boys encounter the Navy officer. Samneric tell him that it's only those three on the island. There's no one else except them. There were two more, but they died.
Ralph, Sam and Eric are put aboard the boat. The boat sails off towards the silver cruiser.
The savages gather on the beach and watch in shock. They try to signal the boat, but it was too far for the officer to hear. Jack and the savages are abandoned on the island and we are left wondering their fates.
Well, what do you think?
Would it be realistic enough?

Good job! I have to write an alternate ending for Lord of the Flies and I'm a bit stuck for ideas at the moment... I really like your idea about Ralph and Samneric leaving the rest for dead - I wouldn't mind if the littluns are saved though...

- It could be told with plenty of action, too.
- I'm just a bit daunted by this assignment because I guess you really have to adopt Golding's writing style, and if I chose for the boys to be rescued, I can't exactly have a helicopter or a plane land neatly on the island because that is not exactly realistic.

I really like your idea about Ralph and Samneric leaving the rest for dead - I wouldn't mind if the littluns are saved though... It could be told with plenty of action, too.

Very good. We had to do this in school and my friend came up with an ending where they discover another tribe of girls on the island who are all civilized and organised.
