Loot...together...

The loot was dinging together loudly.

Is "together" okay there? I don't want to write "The loots were..." because I think that would sound weird. Or maybe I should eliminate the need for "together" by just writing, "The loot was dinging loudly from inside them." Them refers to sacks.

I agree—that would solve the problem. I also think that 'clanging' is a better word choice (I presume the loot is metallic?)
