Take care to distinguish between "loose" and "lose"

Loose means not tight (e.g. She wears loose, comfortable clothes)

Lose means to be defeated; to not win. So someone who never wins is "a loser". Very close in meaning to a failure. Of course, neither is polite.

Cheers

John.
