Looks like

John and Peter are brothers living in the same room. John tells Peter, 'Don't open the door so suddently; I might be using scissors in front of the full-length mirror just behind the door.' Peter responds, 'Then you should lock the door in that case.' Then can John say this?

-No, I don't do such a thing. It sounds like I'm doing something secretive in the room.

Peter suggests that John do something; so logically 'sound' should be wrong, and it should be 'It(=locking the door) looks like...'. But 'sound' sounds possible. What do native English speakers think?
