Looking forward to see(ing) you

Hello

I wonder if "looking forward to see you" is an absolutely unacceptable expression or could it be used as an alternative for "looking forward to seening you"

Thank you

You can say "I look forward to seeing you" or "I am looking forward to seeing you" but either way, it must be "seeing" and not "see."

Using "see" is incorrect.

Why can't we use "see" here?

You need the gerund, the -ing form.

It's just the way the grammar works.
