looking for an idiom

Hi!

It's Antonia.

I'm looking for an idiom or expression or alike for:

when wife or husband is discontent because of the behaviour of his or her wife or husband and they express it by not talking to each other. Here's the context:

Inside, you will_____________, but outside, you will try to keep the appearences of good marriage.

Thank you for your help.

Antonia - do "inside" and "outside" in your sentence mean "internally and externally" (the person is not showing hisher own feelings) or "privately and publicly" (the couple behaves one way at home and another way in front of other people)? possibilities include:

Inside, you will be fuming /seething /sulking, ....

At home, she gives him the cold shoulder, but in public

Hi MM and Khoff!

Yes, fume is great!

Thanks.

But, is it wrong to say inside. Should I write inward?

"Inside" is okay -- I'm sure in context it will be clear -- or you could use "inwardly."
