I am looking for an English slang that sounds like "There is no free lunch in the world" but not exactly like this. I'd like to tell someone that no one will share with you the secret of succeeding a field of business because no one wants to bring in a competitor, you have to explorer it by yourself and learn from experience.... something like that. Is there such slang?
