Looking for an adjective word, please help

Hi,

There is a word i want to express in my writing but can't think of the appropriate word.

"One of the lasting impressions I was left with of Sainsbury's, as an employer, was the genuine role it took in the professional development of the employees’ career*. It’s a role that I would like Sainsbury's to take again in [word needed here] my career."

I want a word that describes my infant/baby/begining career, i.e. it;s not a long established career but only one that is taking off the ground now, one that is blossming.

Is my question clear?

off topic:

*do i need a (s) after the word career as am talking about the employees' careers as a whole?.

My choice is "pursuing".

One of the lasting impressions I was left with of Sainsbury's, as an employer, was the genuine role it took in the professional development of the employees’ ***. It’s a role that I would like Sainsbury's to take again in pursuing my career.

Philip,

sorry, i realise that i have confused you a bit. i am looking for a word to replace the bit where it is bold, where it says "[word needed here]". others have suggested words like pursuing and nurturing. Nurturing is the closest to the word am looking for now but not the word am after. How do you describe a young or infant career? i am sure there better words than young and

paco2004,

Almost the word am looking for, thans very much but don't you think this word has some kind of sexual connotation. I don't know how widely this word is used in the UK.

I like Paco's "budding" career; how about "new-born", "newly-born"?

No, there's nothing sexual implied as far as I can see Emotion: smile

I would suggest:

"One of the lasting impressions I was left with of Sainsbury's, as an employer, was the genuine role it took in employee professional development. It’s a role that I would like Sainsbury's to take again in advancement of my career."

Guess it all depends on what you really want to say. Do they really make life taste better?
