Looking for a word about self-established "rules"

Hi,

Suppose some sort of committee is set up.
Suppose there are no laws/regulations that say how this committee works (for instance, how they should vote, how many members should turn up for a meeting to be valid etc.), so the committee itself writes down all of the "rules" (agreed by the members) concerning its functioning, maybe in one of its very first meetings.

My question is, is there a word for these "rules"?

Many thanks.

Hi, Perhaps 'procedures' or 'rules and procedures'. 'Bylaws' does not quite fit with a committee. Clive
