Looking for a word

Hi.

One of my students asked me if there was a word meaning boring advice. I am not sure about the existence of such a word, but I thought of sharing it with English experts here.

I would be grateful if you could let me know whether you can think of any words.

and of course PREACH and HOMILY sounds useful to me Emotion: idea

Hi Siavash.

I think homily will do.

Longman dictionary defines it as an unwanted advice. I assume unwanted advices are boring ones.
