Looking for a word

Hi.

What do we call a sheet of paper that is placed on bulletin board to announce an event or a conference?

I know flyers are not mounted on walls or bullentin boards and instead are handed to people walking in the street.

Poster is mostly commercial and full of pictures and I do not think it can be used for academic contexts.

I have to defend my thesis next week and I have to put on a sheet on bulletin board to inform others about my thesis presentation date, time and topic.

I do not know the right word for it.

Furthermore, what is the verb for it? I can think of mount, place, put up, attach. are they correct?
