Looking for a word

Hi.

what do we call tea after being brewed? I am not talking about the liquid but the tea material that remains.

sth that we put in dust bin while cleaning the tea pot.

I have found dregs but dregs is the liquid, not the tea material.

to clarify I have to say that when we do not use tea sieve, --------appear in our glass of tea.

thanks

'Dregs' is, on the contrary, particularly the tea material, the solid part or sediment -- though the term is often used for whatever is not used (= liquid + solid). However, I believe that they just as often remain tea leaves, as in this excerpt about tasseography: After a cup of tea has been poured, without using a tea strainer, the tea is drunk or poured away. The cup should then be shaken well and any remaining liquid drained off in the saucer.

  • The diviner now looks at the pattern of tea leaves in the cup and allows the imagination to play around the shapes suggested by them.
