Looking for a verb

Hi. I wonder if there is any other word except target(v) for the follwoing action.

What do we call the action before shooting when we are preparing ourselves to shoot at the target?(Just targeting?)

This action can be done when we are shooting with gun or throwing darts?

Ex. Why don't you shoot? Wait a second, I am targeting.

Thanks
