Looking for a name of a beverage

Hi.

I am looking for the name of a drink which is made from the combination of water with yoghurt.

It is an Asian kind of drink, and it is rarely drunk on other parts of the word.

The freedicionary suggest lassi for it (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/lassi ). I have also heard buttermilk.

Local people in Iran, Turkey call it doogh. (http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/doogh )

I would be grateful if you could tell whether you have ever heard these words before.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Thank you

Hi I don't think buttermilk would be made with water Lassi is definitely seen on London menus and is made with yoghurt, water and one or more seasonings (salt, cumin, sugar, fruit flavouring, etc) Regards, Dave
